Pediatric Imaging - 64 Slice CT is Quick!

NEW Procedures:

CT Colonography
Computed tomographic colonography (CTC) is a new diagnostic imaging tool that utilizes advanced imaging software and hardware with 64 slice CT data to create both two- and - three-dimensional images (virtual colonoscopy) of the entire colon. This 20-minute procedure offers important advantages for evaluating colon polyps and cancer.

Exam Time- 20 minutes
Indications- Age over 50 years

Patient Prep
  • Bowel prep resulting in clean colon (Dulcolax tablets and 2L Golytely)

  • More comfortable outpatient procedure
  • Shorter exam times and recovery period
  • Lower cost
  • Visualizes entire colon, abdomen, and pelvis
  • No intravenous sedation

Results
  • CT Colonography provides thin sections of the colon for review. Also, all the abdominal and pelvic organs can be screened for occult disease. 3D images of the colon are similar to colonoscopy.
